FACTS ABOUT THE NEXT GENERATION 
The USS Enterprise-D was a Galaxy Class Starship launched in 2363. The ship contained two bridges; a battle bridge, which was used during seperation mode, and a main bridge. The Galaxy class Enterprise was 42 decks and usually had 1,064 people living on it at any one time. This Enterprise was a family ship, meaning that officers and crew could bring their families along, which meant that the ship also contained a nursery, a school, and several play areas for children, including the arboridum and the ships many gyms. The series Star Trek: The Next Generation began in 1987 and followed the missions of the Enterprise-D as it journeyed to new worlds and defended the Federation. The series was set about 100 years after the exploits of the Original Star Trek. The series was cancelled in Spring of 1994 after 7 seasons on the air, and immediately that Fall, went to the Big Screen with Star Trek: Generations. The Next Generation Crew has had three additional movies since then, First Contact, Insurrection and Nemesis. |
